POLICY SUMMARY

This policy provides a concise summary of Buffalo State University’s admissions philosophy and outlines a unified, non‑discriminatory framework governing all undergraduate, graduate, non‑degree, readmit, and international applications. It serves as the entry point to more detailed admissions policies and resources.

POLICY

Buffalo State University admits students on the basis of their academic and personal qualifications without regard to race, sex, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or marital or veteran status. All admissions practices must comply with State University of New York (SUNY) regulations as well as applicable state and federal nondiscrimination statutes.

IMPLEMENTATION AND OVERSIGHT

The Vice President for Enrollment Management is responsible for campus‑wide implementation of this policy. Day‑to‑day oversight is delegated to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and the Dean of the Graduate School, who jointly ensure that all admissions pathways and related communications adhere to this policy and its procedures.

A standing Admissions Policy Committee (APC), appointed by and advisory to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, will review implementation, recommend revisions when necessary, and confirm that admissions procedures remain consistent with SUNY guidelines and federal/state law.
