Photoduplication & Digital Imaging of Archival and Special Collections Materials

As part of our service to readers, the Archives & Special Collections Department provides copies from books and manuscripts in the collections for your research use. These copies are provided in accordance with the United States copyright law.

  • Copying is limited to materials in sound physical condition and not subject to legal or donor restrictions.
  • All requests for copies are subject to archivist approval; some documents may be too fragile to reproduce.
  • Digital scans will not be manipulated or edited prior to delivery.
  • Permission to copy does not convey the right to reproduce or publish the material.
  • Readers must submit written requests for permission to reproduce or publish material from the collections. Some publication projects may be subject to a use fee. Please see our Copyright & Permissions information page for additional details.
  • Patrons cannot reproduce these materials for others without the permission of the Archives staff.

1-10 Pages .50 per photocopied page
10-100 Pages 1.00 per photocopied page
100+ Pages Approval required from Archivist

Digital Scans

Personal/Academic Research $1.00 per exposure
Publication Quality Scan (Buffalo State Student/Professor/Staff) $25.00 per exposure
Publication Quality Scan (Outside Researcher) $50.00 per exposure

There are additional charges for the following:

  • Domestic Shipping: $5.00

Staff will process photocopy requests in the order in which they are received, typically within 48 hours. Larger orders will be mailed within two weeks. Requests by email or mail are typically sent within two weeks from the date of payment. The size and complexity of your order, plus the number of pending orders, affects delivery time. Please consult with the staff for a more accurate delivery time estimate.
