Guide on the Side for SUNY: Getting Started

Getting Started

SUNY Pilot Project

Guide on the Side for SUNY

Guide on the Side for SUNY is hosted on an Amazon web server through Buffalo State. This URL is temporary and will change once the project has moved out of the pilot phase.

Naming Your Guide

Since we are running a single instance of Guide on the Side with many participants, the easiest way to keep guides organized is by institution name. When naming your guide, use the following naming convention:

  • Campus Initials/Short Name - Title of Guide
  • Example: SCCC - Finding Articles

Creator Guide

The University of Arizona has created a how-to guide for creating a tutorial in Guide on the Side. The tutorial creator uses a text box with a WYSIWYG editor at the bottom so creating a tutorial is as easy as using Word.

Style Guide

Best practices for tutorials including naming conventions, wording, stylization, and more.
