Alumni

Alumni of Buffalo State are eligible to join the Friends of E. H. Butler Library at a special alumni rate in order to receive library borrowing privileges.

Alumni may request a guest computer pass at the Information Commons, by presenting their Buffalo State alumni card and a photo ID, for in-library use of computers and access to software, research databases, Internet searching, and other web resources. A new guest computer pass is issued each visit.

Alumni can also access Alumni Editions for two of our most popular databases - Academic Search Complete and Business Source Complete. Find instructions for access on the Alumni Association webpage (scroll down to Online Library Databases).

Visiting Students and Faculty

If your institution participates in the Open Access Project, Academic Library InfoPass Project, or the InfoPass Project, you may be eligible to borrow materials and receive a guest computer pass. Check with your college or university library for more information.

Scholars Affiliated with a Buffalo State Department

Scholars from other institutions who are working with a department at Buffalo State must present a letter on letterhead from the Buffalo State department chair with whom they are affiliated. These visiting scholars will have borrowing privileges and access to computers.

Members of the community are cordially invited to join the Friends of E. H. Butler Library in order to receive library borrowing privileges and in-library computer access.

Friends of the Library

Buffalo State alumni and members of the community are cordially invited to join the Friends of E. H. Butler Library. The purpose of the organization is to provide library privileges to users outside the college community and to obtain financial support to enable Butler Library to enhance its holdings and continue its long-standing tradition of quality.

What are the benefits of membership?

In addition to supporting Butler Library, your Friends card will allow you to borrow books, videos, and other circulating materials. If you would like to use our computer facilities, you will be issued a guest computer password each time you visit for in-library use of computers and access to research databases and other web resources.

Friend of E. H. Butler Library$75.00 /year
Alumni of Buffalo State$50.00 /year

How do I join?

Please stop by the Circulation Desk at Butler Library for a membership application form during regular library hours. If you prefer, you may print the application form and mail it with your check.
