E. H. Butler Library is proud to announce a new Social Justice Book Club that is open to students!
During fall 2022, we will read Choice Words: Writers on Abortion, which is a literary anthology of poems, stories, and essays about abortion. The book club will meet in person every other Tuesday from 3 to 4:15pm, beginning on September 20th. Session dates are 9/20, 10/4, 10/18, 11/1, and 11/15. Seats are limited.
Book club participants will receive a free copy of the book. The book is also available in e-book format through the Library.
This program was made possible with the support of E. H. Butler Library, Equity and Campus Diversity, Student Leadership and Engagement, the Muriel A. Howard Honors Program, and Haymarket Books.
The Social Justice Book Club logo was designed by John Gardner.
We will meet for five regular sessions over the course of fall semester. These sessions will coincide with the 5 sections of the book: Mind, Body, Heart, Will, and Spirit. An additional special session will feature a panel of book contributors whose work we will read.
In addition to the events listed above, participants are strongly encouraged to attend the following events:
