Located on the first floor of the library, Media Services offers a diverse collection of DVDs, CDs, and videocassettes. Among items of interest, you’ll find the 101 Greatest Screen Plays DVD collection, a wide variety of boxed music sets, and educational videos covering a broad range of subjects.
Most of our DVDs and videocassettes circulate for a one week period, while music CDs circulate for two weeks. Media items that are not returned by the due date are subject to overdue fines. When making plans to use the collection, always be sure to verify the availability of an item in the catalog.
Many professors place media items on reserve for required listening or viewing. Before requesting reserve items at the Circulation Desk, please search Course Reserves to note the title and call number. You’ll need a valid Bengal ID card to use reserve materials, which are restricted to in-library use only. If you are a faculty member and wish to place a media item on reserve, simply enter your request through our online reserve form.
Butler Library houses a variety of materials on microfilm and microfiche, including journals, magazines, and newspapers. Publications on microform are listed in the library catalog, and on the Periodicals (Print & Microfilm) page. Special equipment is available that allows you to read and print this material.
Please call Circulation Services at 878-6303 with any questions or concerns. If you have suggestions to improve the services or development of our Media collection, please contact a reference librarian at 878-6300 or via e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org.
